Research Assistant/Associate
A research associate/assistant is needed for conducting field and laboratory research. This is a one year position that will end September 2026 but may be extended based upon job performance and funding availability. Job description and responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement field studies with the PI and other members of the team
- Supervise temporary workers and mentor staff on new protocols
- Provide periodic support for planting, harvesting, and maintenance of field experiments
- Prepare seed and inoculum for field season
- Design and implement experimental sample collection methods for laboratory analysis
- Perform data collection and analysis for use in publications or grant proposals/reports
- Lead in writing annual reports or publications as well as present research at meetings
- Improve and develop protocols to isolate and culture microorganisms as well as identify pests and diseases where appropriate

Job description and responsibilities:
- Assist with farm operations including: general crop production, research trial establishment, and general grounds keeping
- Assist in data collection in agronomic studies
- Willingness to work outdoors in a field setting
- Ability to work with others in a team atmosphere
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions
